Primary sources
Every framework write-up and every sample analysis on this site is built from primary sources, pulled live at the time of the run: SEC EDGAR filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statements), the company's own press releases and earnings materials, and live market pricing data. Where a figure comes from a secondary source — a news article reporting on a filing, for instance — that's a deliberate exception noted as such, not the default sourcing method.
Live data or nothing
If a number isn't available from a live source at the time of the run, the write-up says so instead of filling the gap with a plausible-sounding figure.
